Most kitchen display systems are office screens in a metal box. They fog, they smear, they refuse a gloved finger, and they die the first time someone hoses down the line. The Penguin 1 Series was engineered the other way round: a SUS304 food-grade stainless steel body, full IP65 sealing, and a −10°C to 50°C operating range, so it goes wherever the workflow needs it — the pass, the fry station, the walk-in exit — with no placement compromises.

A kitchen display screen that survives the kitchen

IP65 means dustproof and protected against water jets from any direction. Grease films, steam clouds and cleaning residue don’t reach the electronics, which means the Penguin 1 can be cleaned to full commercial standards rather than wiped around. Stainless steel construction keeps the surface non-porous, cutting contamination risk and bacteria harbourage — and replacing thermal ticket paper removes another vector entirely.

Readable at a glance, responsive with gloves on

A 1920×1080 FHD panel — 21.5″ at 400 nits or 15.6″ at 250 nits — stays legible across a 170° viewing angle, so cooks read tickets from the plancha without stepping over. An anti-fingerprint, anti-oil coating keeps the glass clear through a full service. The G+G 10-point capacitive touch layer registers rubber, latex, polyethylene and cotton gloves, and works through wet or greasy hands. No PPE removal, no drying off, no double-tapping.

Performance that holds through peak

An octa-core processor (2× Cortex-A76 at 2.0GHz, 6× Cortex-A55 at 1.8GHz) with up to 6GB RAM and 64GB storage on Android 15 keeps tickets landing instantly during the rush. Dual 3W speakers announce new orders, modifications and timeouts above extraction fans and pass noise; dual microphones support voice confirmation without a separate audio unit. Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and Gigabit Ethernet keep the link to the POS stable however congested the network gets.

IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ carries power and data down a single cable — no new circuit, no free outlet, no electrician, no scheduled downtime. The unit auto-starts the moment power is applied, and universal VESA compatibility covers wall, counter and arm mounts without structural modification.

Orders arrive from every channel exactly as entered — nothing lost, duplicated or misread. A one-tap completion signal closes the loop back to front-of-house in real time, replacing verbal relay. And a bright FHD display means instructions stay clear from the first cover to the last, with no smudged tickets and no guesswork on allergens or modifiers.

One console for every screen, in every store

KiwiCloud UEM handles the fleet. New devices auto-enrol on first power-up with policies applied and no on-site IT. Kiosk mode locks each screen to approved apps so staff can’t exit, install or tamper — the most common cause of a dark screen mid-service.
