Elo Pay 15″ — Self Check-In Terminals for Clinic and Practice Reception

A reception desk spends much of its day on the same short conversation: confirming a patient has arrived, checking their details haven’t changed, and taking a payment. None of it needs a person. The Elo Pay 15″ handles arrival, detail confirmation and payment on a single 15.6-inch touchscreen, which frees the desk for the conversations that do need one.

Arrivals without a queue

The pattern in most waiting rooms is a cluster at 9am and another after lunch, with the desk processing arrivals one at a time while everyone else stands. A check-in terminal absorbs that peak. Patients confirm arrival, review and update their details, complete consent or screening questions, and pay anything owing — without joining a line and without a staff member repeating the same script forty times a day.

The ten-point Full HD touchscreen is large enough for readable type at a comfortable size, which matters more in a waiting room than in retail: a meaningful share of patients are older, unwell, or both, and small type is the fastest way to send someone back to the desk anyway.

Payment built into the terminal

Contactless payment is handled by a front-facing NFC antenna inside the device, so taking a copay, consultation fee or outstanding balance doesn’t require a separate card machine on a stand beside it. A programmable rear-lit contactless logo indicates when the terminal is ready to accept a tap, which removes one of the more common points of hesitation for a patient using a kiosk for the first time.

One terminal, several reception layouts

VESA 75mm and 100mm mounting supports floor-standing units in a waiting area, countertop units beside a reception desk, and wall mounts in a corridor or vestibule. A practice group rolling out across sites with very different reception footprints specifies stands rather than different terminals, which keeps the spares plan to one device.

Four Edge Connect ports take peripherals on the unit itself — a 2D barcode scanner for appointment letters and referral codes, a status light, or an RFID module for staff badge access to an administrative mode.

Managed across sites, not per site

EloView handles remote deployment and configuration, so a group practice can push a form change, an updated consent wording or a new screening question to every site at once. Provisioning through EloView or Google Zero Touch means a replacement unit configures itself when plugged in, without an IT visit. If the organisation already runs an Android MDM, Elo’s OEMConfig support brings the device into that platform instead.
